Ya'll...this is serious. I've been on the hunt for a new moisturizer for what seems like FOR.EH.VER.
Don't mind the Sandlot reference
Anyways, back to business. It seemed like I was doomed and destined to a life without a perfect moisturizer (cue the dramatic music).
Alas, until I discovered Neutrogena's Hydro Boost Moisturizing Gel a few weeks ago. My skin is naturally oily but lately, it's been feeling dry even after moisturizing. I might also add that my skin is ULTRA sensitive so I have to be careful what skincare I use. Depending on the moisturizer, I either end up breaking out with large, cystic acne or breaking out in tons of tiny and bumpy dots all over my face.
Anyways, I remember seeing a blue Neutrogena moisturizer jar in my aunt's (imagine my beautiful aunt with flawless, envy worthy skin) luggage a couple years ago and decided to try it. I mean, if it makes my skin look half as beautiful/flawless/hydrated as hers, than I am 100% happy to try something new. Now that I look back and realize how obsessed I am with this product, I wish I had tried it earlier.
What I love about this product:
It has hyaluronic acid (!!!). Hyaluronic acid retains moisture in the skin. Retaining moisture= anti aging. Hyaluronic acid promotes collagen in the skin. Promoting collagen in the skin= keeps skin supple and youthful.
Basically hyaluronic acid=
It's oil-free! Being naturally oily, this is a must on my list.
It's non-comedogenic (designed to not block pores) which is also a must on my list since my skin is sensitive and prone to breakouts.
The texture is lightweight and a gel consistency. My favorite moisturizer texture is a gel consistency so this made me ultra happy.
It makes my skin feel baby soft and smooth after applying. The perfect amount of hydration as it penetrates the skin quickly.
It doesn't cause my makeup to slide off after application or throughout the day. This is HUGE for me because oily skin+greasy moisturizers in the past would cause my makeup to look ratchet at the end of the day. No bueno.
Ummm, did I mention it doesn't break the bank? $14.99 for an amazing moisturizer?! Done, deal.
Most importantly, it makes my skin ACTUALLY feel good. The end.
